Widget Codriver Will Race with Tabor Rally Team

Enters Doo Wops ClubRally in Washington

Thousand Oaks, CA. John Dillon of Thousand Oaks, California, a co-driver for the Widget International Racing Team's Rally Division, and Mark Tabor of West Linn, Oregon, with the Tabor Rally Team, announced today that they will be joining forces at the Doo Wops ClubRally in Washington State this weekend. The duo last raced together October in Prescott, Arizona in Tabor's Mazda 323 GTX, where they were awarded the Carl Merrill Sportsmanship Award.

"I enjoyed racing with the Tabor Team a couple of times last year," said the navigator. In addition to the Prescott Forest Rally, Lauchlin O'Sullivan raced with Dillon in the Tabor Mazda to a second-in-class finish at the Ojibwe Forest Rally last August. "The whole Tabor family is so enthusiastic about our sport," added the co-driver. "It's great fun to be a part of their team, even if it's only on an occasional basis."

Mark's brother Matt lost his co-driver at the last moment, while Dillon's expected ride with Anton Musev fell through due to problems with the support vehicle. Initially it was decided that John and Matt would team up, but since Mark and John had raced together earlier, Kristen Tabor agreed to co-drive for brother Matt instead. (For the record, mother Jan works on the car along with crew chief Gerald Kohlermeir; dad Bruce rallies a Nissan; and youngest brother Jon is planning on a full national season behind the wheel.)

"I look forward to having John call the corners at Doo Wops," said Tabor. "We had a good time in Arizona even though we lost our brakes with twenty-six miles before a service stop!" After their wild "non-stop" adventure, the team switched to Porterfield Enterprises brake pads. "The Porterfield pads are awesome," noted the driver. "We rallied for three days in Laughlin with them and they're still strong and fresh for Doo Wops."

The Doo Wops rally is a chance for the two to get "warmed up" for the National season. Tabor plans to run selected west coast events, while Dillon will compete for the National co-driver's championship in Group N, racing with Mark Nelson in a Mitusbishi Evo IV for the remaining eight events on the ProRally calendar.

The Tabor Rally Team races exclusively on Silverstone Tyres and is sponsored by Pacific Foto Supply. Shults Dot Com provides web services for the Widget International team.

In additional to competing as a rallyist, Dillon serves on the California Sports Car Club's Board of Governors and is an active volunteer safety worker for local club races at Buttonwillow Raceway Park and other venues. He is also the SCCA Southern Pacific Division's ClubRally steward.

The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) is a club of over 50,000 members involved in many facets of motorsports. For more information regarding the SCCA, check out www.scca.org. For information about the California Rally Series, visit www.californiarallyseries.com.
