More Points for Widget Codriver at Maine Forest Rally

Rumford, ME. John Dillon (Thousand Oaks, CA), codriver for the Widget Rally Team, partnered with Pete Lahm of P-Sport to race in the Maine Forest Rally and picked up three more championship points. Leon Styles (Mission Viejo, CA), the Widget Team driver and car owner, couldn't make the 3500 mile journey across the country, but the team reunites in Minnesota for the Ojibwe Forest Rally in late August.

"When Leon realized we weren't going to be able to make it to Maine, he suggested I look around for another ride," recounted Dillon. "I held plane tickets I had to use or lose, so I figured 'why not?' A friend suggested I contact Pete and the rest is history."

Lahm, who usually prepares the stage notes used by many U.S. rallies across the country, hadn't had a chance to race in over eight months, so he looked forward to the chance to get behind the wheel again. "I don't mind admitting I was a bit rusty at first," he observed, "but as the rally progressed we got into a rhythm and picked up the pace. There's no substitute for seat time, especially at today's level of competition, so I'm happy we got in over two hours of seat time this weekend. This is a tough rally so it's good to be listed in the finishers column."

In addition to racing, Lahm had his "regular business" to deal with. As owner of P-Sport, he sells rally gear like high-end helmets, odometers, intercoms and watches to competitors at the event.

The Tombstone Paintball Widget Rally Team is supported by Perforce Software (www.perforce.com/rally.html), Worr Games (www.worr.com), 7-24 AirX, Team Slam (www.teamslam.com), Porterfield Enterprises (porterfield-brakes.com), and Shults Dot Com (www.shults.com). The team returns to action at the Ojibwe Forest Rally in Bemidji, Minnesota, August 23rd.
