Deep is the pool of grief
We feel in times of loss.
Unable to reverse time,
We must wade through it each day,
Soaked in sadness,
Awash in tears.
Soon, but never soon enough,
We discover that each step we take
Dissipates the pool, little by little
Until at last it evaporates to nothing
Leaving behind only the terra firma
Of warm, happy, sunlit memories
To give us solid footing
That we may move forward again
Know that your friends walk with you
And share your grief.
Know too that,
By marching with you,
They help splash away
The shrinking puddles of sorrow,
Help you through your grief,
Help you return to solid ground.
We are honored to walk with you
To lend you our support
Because we are your friends.
